As part of a transformation of the client’s rooftop terrace area, we were asked to manufacture and install a collection of outdoor seating units with storage, bespoke hanging planters and re-deck the whole area. We worked closely with the designer on this project to hone the design details and function of the terrace seating, from the initial design concept, to testing and prototyping material suitability through to the final manufacture and installation. The seating needed to be manufactured in a way which allowed it to be transported up to the fifth floor roof terrace via a central stairwell, so a modular design was required. The powdercoated metal units were bolted together and finished with Accoya timber lids which match the decking. Stainless steel gas struts are used on the lids to allow ease of access to the outdoor grade cushions which are hidden in the built-in storage when not in use.
