Behind the scenes of an install! By planning a project thoroughly we can fit something like this media unit within a day, keeping site disruption to a minimum. Starting with a full site survey, we then design and detail every element of the installation to work within the site limitations and client’s requirements. A dry assembly takes place in our workshop to check everything fits together and works, then is flat-packed for transport and getting in to site. (This one was on the fourth floor!) We designed and installed this custom 5m long desk for a client in West London earlier this year. Features include hidden cable runs through the legs/body of the structure to an integrated cable and storage area running continuously along the length of the desk. The custom study and storage - Also made from birch plywood with a spray finish, this unit features extra-deep drawers and a built-in filing system. The bespoke wardrobe and storage - Made from birch plywood and featuring a minimal pull handle detail on the doors. The internal LED lighting illuminates on the opening of the doors and custom shoe storage helps keep things organised. Part of our recent install for @placesplusfaces involved hanging 120 individual picture frames. Here’s the install process for the large flat-pack office table we recently installed. Due to access restrictions the table was designed in a kit form for quick and easy assembly on site. By using the CNC router we were able to pre-cut all the joints so that the components would simply slot together for install. Made from birch plywood in a clear lacquer finish, the table features hidden cable routes and a large cable tray along the full length. It’s been a busy few weeks in the workshop, but having a CNC router certainly helps! Here you can see it cutting the components for a table we’ve recently installed. These pieces are for the frame, the notches being cut out allow each piece to slot together making it quick and easy for assembly. By drawing it all out on the computer beforehand, we plan exactly how it’s going to be cut and assembled and can also lay out each component on the sheet material to ensure there is minimal waste. The stainless steel is also used for the window reveals which frame the dessert displays and bespoke back-lit menus. Our recent pop-up installation for @discover.salkan at the @trumanbrewery. It involved building a chamfered wall with climbing holds to mimic a cliff face which also doubled as a display space. Collaborating with @sarahizod and @joanntanstudio we cut angles through various items of furniture (including a grandfather clock and rowing boat!) to create a floating effect.
